Last week I was happily splashing along at the gym’s tiny pool (18m!) when the lass who gives beginner lessons flagged me down.
“I’m thinking of doing sessions on Wednesdays for advanced technique and training - proper structured sets. Would you be interested?”
I haven’t received any formal swimming coaching for about 12 years. I’m normally quite happy going up and down by myself. Then I thought to myself: What would Ranomi Kromowidjojo do?
Well exactly.
This week I could only stay for half the set but BLIMEY it was hard enough. However having someone tell you how many reps you have left to go is very useful. As is someone telling you what the tiny pace clock says when you can’t see it from the other end of the pool. Next stop masters. Oh dear!
